Kiddie Kampus Teachers
Alameda's Cooperative Preschool
My name is Michelle Lynn Carnahan and I am the new director at Kiddie Kampus. I was born and grew up in Alameda attending Mastick Elementary, Wood Middle and Encinal High Schools. I now have 2 girls, ages 10 and 7, both attending Paden School here in Alameda.
I graduated from Cal State Hayward with a degree in Liberal Studies with an Early Childhood emphasis. I have continued my education by attending many early-childhood educational workshops and seminars. I also have obtained my Child Development Site-Supervisor Permit from the State in 2003.
I started working in the early childhood field over 15 years ago as an assistant pre-school teacher for the Alameda Park and Recreation Department and was the head-teacher for the past 10 years at Godfrey Park. My main focus during those years was teaching mostly 3 year-olds, however I am very excited to be fortunate enough to teach children of multiple pre-school ages with Kiddie Kampus, since the amount of growing and developing they do during these years is truly amazing to me! Their desire to learn and discover new and wondrous things has been very infectious to me and is what gives me great pride and joy each and every day!
My hope is to provide the children at Kiddie Kampus with an environment that sets the stage for the children to become life-long learners and to give them a positive and motivating start to their educational years…
