Covid-19 Policy
Covid-19 Policy
Covid-19 vaccines are not currently included in the list of required immunization for child care (see Title 17, Cal. Code of Regulations, section 6000 et seq.). However, the Kiddie Kampus Board of Directors voted in favor of requiring all teachers and working parents/caregivers to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19. Covid-19 vaccination is strongly encouraged for all members of the Kiddie Kampus community.
Required Actions:
Prior to admission to child care, children are required to have the vaccinations referenced in Title 22, California Code of Regulations, sections 101220.1 for child care centers, and section 102418, for family child care homes.
Providers must ensure required childhood immunizations are completed, or that the child has a medical exemption from immunization requirements, prior to child care enrollment.
In Alameda County, as of June 24th, 2022, the use of face coverings is now strongly recommended in child care indoor settings, regardless of vaccination status. At this time, children are not required to be vaccinated against Covid-19 in order to be eligible for enrollment at Kiddie Kampus.
Recommended Practices:
Covid-19 vaccination is free for all and strongly recommended for all eligible people in California, including providers, teachers, staff, children, and individuals sharing homes with members of child care communities.
Confirmation of Covid-19 vaccinations should be documented in the same way other immunizations are documented and maintained in the facility file.

Considerations include:
Never place face masks on babies or children under 2 years of age because it poses a danger and risk for suffocation.
Children should not wear face masks while sleeping.
Providers must ensure the use of face masks does not cause children to overheat in hot weather.
Masks are not required for attendance at Kiddie Kampus Cooperative Preschool at this time, however we will continue to follow the guidance set forth by the Alameda County Department of Public Health should recommendations change.
Teachers and working parents will be respectful of each family’s choice regarding masking and will do their best to assist a child in remaining masked for any family making this request.
There is no current guidance mandating Covid-19 screening. However, it is a best practice to continue to conduct daily screenings for Covid-19 with the children in your care. Kiddie Kampus will continue to screen for symptoms of Covid-19 at morning drop-off.
Cleaning and disinfection can reduce the spread of germs. Kiddie Kampus will follow the CDC’s guide to cleaning and disinfecting your child care facility or family child care home.
